Tim Sullivan

Executive Chairman

As Executive Chairman, Tim brings passion, vision, and experience to the GenAlpha team.  His fearless approach to applying technology to manufacturing processes contributed to his desire to be the Chair of a company which delivers best in class products and services designed for the manufacturing sector.

Tim is the former CEO of Bucyrus International Inc., a manufacturer of high productivity mining equipment for surface and underground mining.  During his tenure at Bucyrus he grew revenue 17 fold to $4.4B, and EBITDA to $1.1B.  After leading the 8th best performing initial public offering in the U.S. in 2004, Bucyrus was the 25th and the 8th fastest growing company in the U.S. in 2009 and 2010 respectively.  After completing the sale of Bucyrus to Caterpillar, Inc. in 2011 for $8.8B, Tim has held other leadership positions including special consultant to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, advisor to various private equity firms, and Chairman and CEO of Gardner Denver, Inc.

In addition to his participation at GenAlpha, Tim is currently a Director of Aurora Health Care, Bucyrus Foundation, Carroll University, Cliffs Natural Resources, Inc., and Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. Tim’s commitment to growing strong businesses and communities has been recognized throughout the years. He has received numerous honors and awards, including an Honorary Doctorate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Ernst & Young U.S. Manufacturing & Distribution Entrepreneur of the Year, United Way of Greater Milwaukee Heller Award, Harvard Business School Leader of the Year, and Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame Executive of the Year.

Andy Hansen

During his time at Bucyrus International, he was involved in two large acquisitions worth over $2 billion and saw Bucyrus grow from $250 million in sales to $5 billion in a twelve year span. Before leaving Caterpillar, Inc. to start GenAlpha, he continued to oversee Global Product Support as well as the integration of the aftermarket.

After experiencing many of the issues facing manufacturers who are trying to provide their customers and service technicians with easy-to-use tools with accurate, real-time information, he decided to start GenAlpha. Hansen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and an MBA from Marquette University.
